This is the 5th Annual IWEA Health & Safety Event. This year we will discuss the increase in build out rates and the growing importance on health and safety as a direct result. You will learn from real incidents with peer commentary. The event itself will be interactive in main to facilitate networking and real absorption of numerous learning outcomes.  We will have experts present to facilitate the event and answer questions. The IWEA Health and Safety Strategy Group have identified topical issues in wind and they will be covered on the day. This is a MUST ATTEND event.

Of this event people said;

“Attending this event was instrumental to developing my understanding of the health and safety risks throughout all aspects of the execution and operation of wind farm projects. For example, the recent presentations on transport and crane use brought home the importance of working together to eliminate risks before they become issues. Most importantly for me was the awareness that health and safety is the most important aspect of developing, executing and operating a wind farm. With this understanding all partners know they must work together openly in a concerted manner to achieve a safely delivered project. There is no room for complacency and developing the industry knowledge of health and safety is certainly to the benefit of everyone involved.”
Kevin Moloney, Head of Renewable Energy, Siemens

“The IWEA Health and Safety conference is an extremely worthwhile event for all those involved in the design, construction and operation of wind farms. Since Health and Safety is of paramount importance through all stages of the wind farm life-cycle, it is a great opportunity to share information with industry peers and develop best practice in the industry. The wind industry cannot afford to be complacent and this conference helps to reaffirm our responsibilities and ensure that the highest standards of Health and Safety are set. It is also a good opportunity to speak directly with haulage and crane hire companies, turbine suppliers, construction professionals and legal firms to ascertain tolerances and build better working relationships.”
Anna Magee, Wind Farm Developer, Gaelectric

“As one of the major windfarm operators in Ireland SSE takes great pride in the safety of our staff and contractors. The IWEA annual H&S conference has always proved to be a great benefit in terms of engagement with our colleagues in the wider industry. It is essential that the wind industry in Ireland makes safety a key driver for what we do day in day out. The IWEA H&S conference facilitates that goal.”
Marc McLoughlin, Operations Manager Ireland , SSE Renewables
