European Wind Day

The second annual European Wind Day will take place on Sunday 15th June 2008 across Europe. In light of last year's successful events, the Irish Wind Energy Association, IWEA, will participate again this year.

Eighteen countries have already confirmed their participation in this years's Wind Day, by planning and organising events such as wind farm inaugurations and open days, concerts, conferences, informartion days with schools, debates, races, contests and much more.

Last year 3 Wind Farm developers and Dundalk IT organised open days of their Wind Farm with great success, and we wish to invite you to inaugurate your Wind Farm or hold an open day on Sunday June 15th. Any project involved will be detailed on the European Wind Day website http://www.windday.eu and on the IWEA website.

There will be a selection of promotional material available for all participating Wind Farms; caps, key rings, pin wheels etc.

In addition to the Wind Farm open day, the IWEA will co-ordinate a radio campaign to raise awareness of European Wind Day and the location of all participating Wind Farms.
