Our Health and Safety conference is upon us again.  This event has become one of the leading events in the Health and Safety calendar.  As always we will be dealing with topics which directly impact our industry, bringing to the fore the essential Health and Safety issues that will challenge us over the coming years.  This year our event is sponsored by: GE Renewable Energy and supported by Enercon and Siemens.

We are clear that Health and Safety must be dealt with as a value rather than a priority, priorities can change, our values do not.  This year we will examine the real impact of a serious life threatening incident, and hear directly from the person in our industry who was injured.  You will hear his story, and get to share his thoughts and feelings about his incident, which could have had the most serious of consequences.

Every site manager and company director needs to join us for our session on the aftermath of a serious incident and how your life and lives of your employees may be affected.  Dealing with the authorities clearly in the aftermath of an incident on-site or through giving testimony can be a reality where nobody would want to find themselves.  Experience how that might sound and feel from your conference seat so that you can plan further safety measures to reduce the likelihood of being there in real life.

The greatest risk to many in our industry is driving and the dangers we face every day when we leave our home or office to travel long distances to remote sites.  This year we devote a session of our conference to this risk which saw 166 people killed on our roads last year.  We will bring you the latest research on risk factors and present it in a way that you will never forget by people who deal with the consequence as part of their job.  But we also bring you solutions and ways to help manage this risk from award winning leaders in Safe Driving who work in our own industry.  Fleet managers, safety professionals, senior managers but most of all drivers will leave our conference this year different than they arrived.

At our conference we will look back to learn lessons from past events to ensure we are driving safety in the right direction for all our members.  We will seek your thoughts and your views at our Health and Safety conference because driving safety equally at desks and in diggers is the right thing to do.
