IWEA's Actions For Economic Prosperity

IWEA's Autumn Conference, Actions For Economic Prosperity in a New Energy Era, sponsored by Viridian Power and Energy, was held in the Europa Hotel, Belfast on Friday October 3rd with over 250 delegates in attendance. The event was extremely well recieved with the keynote opening address given by the Northern Ireland Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment Minister, Arlene Foster. Presentations given by senior figures in the energy sector, including Partick Haren, Deputy Chairman of the Viridian Group, Michael Walsh, Chief Executive of the IWEA and Iain Osborne, Chief Executive Officer for the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation.

In addition to the conference presentations a lively panel discussion was hosted by BBC Northern Ireland news journalist, Noel Thompson.  The panel included; Fintan Slye, Operations Director, EirGrid, Andy McCrea, Executive Director, Action Renewables, Leslie Bryans, Manager Transmission Planning, NIE, Paddy Teahon, President, Irish Wind Energy Association and Mark Ennis, Director of Strategy and Public Policy, Airtricity
