Global Wind Day - See what your local wind farm is doing here

To celebrate Global Wind Day – Mount Lucas (Bord na Mona) will be doing the following in June:

  • Free tours for all primary school children Monday to Friday for the month – must be booked in advance by contacting Catherine on 087-1175756
  • Free tours for groups in June – must be booked in advance contact Catherine on 087-1175756
  • 15th June Awards Ceremony for 2018 Community Gain Scheme recipients and to celebrate Global Wind Day. Invite only.
  • 16th June: 5km parkrun at Mountlucas wind farm. Start 9.30am. No booking required. Free on-site parking available.


Crockandun wind farm, Co. Tyrone (Brookfield)

  • Opening date & time: Thursday June 14th, 6:00 – 8:00pm
  • What’s happening: School tours and community open day
  • Description: Brookfield Renewable are opening up Crockandun wind farm to local schools, groups and the local community. Brookfield Renewable staff will be available to answer any queries and there is the opportunity to see inside a wind turbine. All age groups welcome with light refreshments provided.

Co Clare event (Windsource)

  • Windsource are hosting the pupils of a local primary school to one of their operational Windfarms in Co. Clare, to mark Global Wind Day this week (15th June). Windsource would like to thank their partners who kindly sponsored the contents of the goodie bags to the children attending on the day.
